Happiness and health

Happiness and health ... Many modern scholars associate these two human states, saying that they are interdependent. In fact, in all civilizations around the globe, there is the belief that man can not develop harmoniously than in combination. It is recognized worldwide for thousands of years. The question you have put scientists was: What should be first, happiness or health? And pretty soon, they found the answer, unanimously, by the way: happiness! There is clear evidence that being happy is not only beneficial for health, but also vital. The truth is that intuitively we all know that. When we are happy we feel better. But most of us confine ourselves to finding a phenomenon when in fact we should make a high priority of our happiness. For what is most precious in a man's life than health - physical and emotional well-being? And what could be more toxic to humans than unhappiness - physical and emotional suffering?

Our brain is programmed for happiness, and there are many studies in this regard. But let us leave aside for the time trials and observe the behavior of our children. How are they? Cheerful and playful, or morose and sad? Everyone is cheerful and happy, of course. Why? Because it was born!

The concept of "learned helplessness" was first introduced in 1970 by Martin Seligman and psychologist Steven Maier, after studying the behavior of animals. Learned or acquired inability occur when the animal was repeatedly subjected to a negative stimulus. Finally, the animal no longer tries to avoid the stimulus and behave as if they were beaten, completely unable to change the situation, although it had the opportunity to escape. This learned helplessness kept him from the action.

Although this concept is related to psychology and animal behavior, it could very well apply to human beings. When people are convinced that they can no longer control the situation that is beginning to behave like helpless inaction and this causes them to overlook opportunities for change.

Two researchers study reveals a direct link between happiness and mental state. Unhappy people are convinced that they have no power to change a situation and fall into a kind of emotional resignation. They have no power, suffering from depression, are stressed and lose the ability to solve a problem. We see practically how emaciated and die. If you've somehow got to this point, remember the words of Benjamin Franklin: "The Constitution only gives people the right to happiness. But you must find her alone. The link between our happiness and our health is very strong. Effects unhappiness dramatically affects us physically. Stress and depression in our body trigger the production of toxic chemicals that threaten our health. Unhappiness weakens the immune system and chronic disease prevalence increases. This translates into frequent colds, headaches or stomach and other inconveniences of this type. Worse is that we increase the risk of developing serious conditions such as heart attacks, diabetes or cancer. And the recovery time from such diseases is significantly higher in depressed and unhappy people.

By contrast, contentment and happiness have the opposite effect. Laughing heartily, for example, determine a positive response to physiological level - lowers blood pressure and increases blood circulation. In addition, laughter triggers contraction of the muscles of the face, the abdomen, and the legs, the equivalent of an exercise, which we know how important it is for health. Laughter increases the production of T cells (lymphocytes) which are designed to create antibodies to the cellular level and reduce the production of cortisol, the steroid hormone released by the adrenal gland in response to stress, which is very harmful to the body.

There are two kinds of people in the world: those who choose to be happy and those who choose to be
unhappy. Goethe said that everyone has their own happiness in his hands, as the artist has the raw material, which he wants to give it a shape. Contrary to popular belief, happiness does not come from wealth, power or fame. Happiness comes from within. The richest people in the world can be simultaneously and very unhappy, while simple and humble people can be very happy. Generally, people look happy positive side of life: they are pleased with themselves and happy there. We've met such people. They have boundless ambition, envy and are not incapable of hatred. The question is how do to it? Answer: There are some common attitudes to these people. Here are some tips to put into practice, can make the difference between a happy and a sad life:

- Do not wear resentment. German philosopher Albert Schweitzer said that happiness means good health and a bad memory. That means that if at some point someone has hurt you or harm you did, it's better to forgive and forget than to allow negative feelings to dominate your life. A grudge is to be depressed, anxious, stressed out. Forgetting offends you clear your mind, have more energy and you can enjoy what life has to offer you well.

- Treat everyone with kindness, dignity and respect and you build lasting relationships. Goodness and altruism cause the brain to produce serotonin - the hormone of happiness.

- Watch a difficult situation as a challenge. If instead you feel defeated, struggling to resolve it, you could turn it into a new lease on life.

- Do not worry about anything, especially about situations in which you've no power to intervene. In most cases they solved without your help. Live in the present and do not fret about the future. You'll be much happier.

- Speak well of others. It's better to be good than to be bad, right? Gossip can be, to a point, funny, but always leaves you with a sense of embarrassment and guilt. To say only nice things about others is a form of positive thinking, good for your health.

- Do not compare yourself with others. Everyone has their own rhythm of life and their own destiny. A feel superior or inferior else it will not ever bring the inner peace that you need to be happy with yourself. Focus on your progress without you relate to others.

- Choose your friends carefully. Remember that all the unfortunate need company, to have a shoulder to cry on. Therefore, the only people surround optimistic. The more positive energy there is around you, the better you will feel.

- Do not seek the approval of others for what you do. Happy people do not care about what others think about them. Do what your heart dictates and reason and do not let the negativity influence you. It is impossible to please everyone.

- Talk less and listen more. You become wiser. Meditate. Moments of solitude, in total silence, helps you find your inner peace. You must not be a Zen master to succeed this.
